The Mountain, Vale and Beach Safari.

A 8 day, 7 night, Adventure.

Visit the Drakensburg Mountains, Zululand and the Golden Beaches of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
On a Self-Drive, Bed & Breakfast basis, except where otherwise specified.

(Honeymoon couple, mid 20's, opted to use us for car hire and accomodation only).

DAY 1 to 3.

Pick up 1300 cc airconditioned rental car at Durban
International Airport.
Leisurely drive to Drakensburg Sun Hotel in the
Drakensburg Mountain Range. This is a World Heritage Site.
This will be your base for the following 2 nights.
Available activities are Hiking, visiting Kwa Zulu Natal
National Park, Climbing, Golfing, Horse Riding, Fishing, etc.
Overnight at Drakensburg Sun Hotel.

DAY 3 to 6.

Depart for Zululand Tree Lodge, in the Ubizane Wildlife Reserve.
Ubizane Wildlife Reserve boasts a wide variety of game, including white rhino, giraffe, wildebeest, and most species of antelope. You can view the game from the comfort of equipped game viewing Land Rovers, on foot for a more thrilling encounter or on horseback for a wonderfully unique experience. Adjacent Ubizane is the renowned Hluhluwe / Umfolozi Game Reserve, the oldest in Africa where the Big-5 roam the bush. (The Big-5 are made up of lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard.)
This will be your base for following 3 nights. Accomodation on a Full Board plus Two Game Activities per day basis.
Set in the cool whispering tranquility of a fever tree forest, the Tree Lodge is a truly special retreat where you will be accommodated in luxurious stilted houses and enjoy the most attentive service and the finest in pan-African cuisine. The lodge itself is magnificently appointed with quiet lounges, observation decks and a sunny pool area where you might be visited by a family of warthog, a delicate red duiker or a pair of purple-crested loeries.
Daily activities include daily Game drives in open-sided game veiwing 4 x 4 vehicles within the Ubizane Reserve and Hluhluwe / Umfolozi Reserve, Bird Watching from Hides, and for the more adventurous, Foot and Horseback Safaris are also available
Overnight at Zululand Tree Lodge.

DAY 6 - 8.

Drive to Durban.
This will be your base until departure on day 8.
Activities: Kwa Zulu Natal and the Indian Ocean are famous for swimming and surfing as well as for their beaches. Other options are a visit to Shakaland, the historical home of Shaka the king of the Zulu's, or visit cosmopolitan Durban, the valley of a thousand hills, and for the avid, or average, golfer there are numerous excellent golf courses to choose from.
Overnight at Holiday Inn Garden Court, North Beach, Durban.

DAY 8.

Return rental car at Durban International Airport and depart.
